The Filtering Framework — Video 1 of 8 Next: Cellular Supremacy →

This is the first question I asked in my research journey.

Biology defines life by four hallmarks: homeostasis, signaling, metabolism, and reproduction. All four operate only in water — submerged, at specific pH, temperature, and osmotic pressure.

But biology also teaches that life left the water 400 million years ago and moved onto land.

Both statements cannot be true.

What we actually observe: life never left water. Life encapsulated water — like an astronaut carrying their atmosphere, or a submarine carrying breathable air.

Life on land is a mobile aquarium.

That observation changed everything I understood about where life is located and how it operates. It raised a deeper question: if life carries its water with it, where exactly is life located? Inside the organism — or inside the cell?

This is the first insight that led to the Filtering Framework.
